This will involve working collaboratively with sales, innovation, operations, quality, and commercial teams.The key focus areas will be innovation support, new process development, new product introduction, material qualification and technical improvements.How You Will Impact WestRockManage implementation of innovation projects within the F&B EMEA OperationsWork with site technicalleads to improve performance and product specifications at the sites and our customersLead the knowledge sharing between sites so all can benefit from improvements.Assess and improve the NPD/NPI process to allow for a swift, responsive system that also protects the business by appropriately controlling NPI risk.Work with procurement to identify material sourcing options and manage the approval process through the operation and customer as required.Investigate latest technologies and share results with wider operation to help guide future growth.Proactively investigate products and processes to identify and implement potential value engineering opportunities.Attend food forums to understand pipeline and plan, prioritise and delegate tasks and activities appropriatelyGenerating and commercialising new ideas in terms of products and processes to generate profitable income that can be successfully produced on siteTo provide governance and guidance where applicable on customer trials taking into account individual customer quality requirements and support the wider technical team in providing effective production/technical solutions as and when appropriateEnsure technical and NPI activity is carried out in a safe manner for colleagues, customers and consumers.Experience and Skills required:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a operations, project management, technical, NPD or quality roleDemonstrable success in implementing new technologies to manufacturing or introduction of new productsPresentation / communication skillsCommercial awareness and budget / resource management skillsAbility to filter/prioritise/focus ideas to maximise commercial benefitDemonstrable experience of leading change and implementing continuous improvement processes.Problem solving skills / project management skills ideally 6 Sigma or similar recognised Business Improvement Technique or approachEvidence of technical research skillsDemonstrable success in implementing new technologies to improve efficiencies or introduction of new productsSkilled in information handling, analysis, and presentationCompetent in using Microsoft Office packagesExcellent written and spoken English language skills required What we offer:
