The prime focus of the role is on legal support for S&TS.S&TS includes internal and external manufacturing (small molecules, biologics and gene therapy), global engineering, development sciences, global supply chain, devices, procurement and IT.The SeniorLegalCounsel contributes and has a major impact on the legalcounselling of the daily operations of S&TS and will also advise on a number of strategic projects.
The geographical scope of the role is global, and the job holder would be based in Brussels or Slough, as locations where most S&TS populations are located in Europe.Who you’ll work withYou will be part of a team of 9 passionate colleagues inspired by patients with a strong team spirit.

Coordination of external counsels on selected topics will be part of your job as well.You will have the opportunity to further develop your expertise in a global and highly complex environment where you can constantly learn and contribute to continuous improvement.What you’ll doProvide trusted counsel and manage different aspects of the legal support for S&TS.Handle extensive contract and legal advisory work relating to manufacturing & supply, clinical trial supplies, distribution, logistics & warehousing, IT related services, development & other services, licensing, construction projects and other agreements and issues specific to the biopharmaceutical sector.Day to day support to global Procurement.Management of and/or coordination of external counsel when and as necessary.Being a key stakeholder for other initiatives towards improving legal support to and collaboration with the business stakeholders, including with respect to templates, contract lifecycle management and other digitalisation projects across Legal.Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skillsDegree in Law from a reputable University in the EU or UK.A licensed lawyer admitted to practice in one or more EU or UK jurisdictions.5+ years of experience either in a law firm and/or as an in-house counsel with a multinational enterprise, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry.Strong legal skills with experience supporting manufacturing and supply chain activities in the biotech, pharmaceuticals or other highly regulated industry is a great asset.Experience in connection with medical device activities and gene therapy would be an additional asset.Strong contract law and IP legal knowledge and technical skills, including experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts and transactions.Strong team player, agile, pragmatic, curious and positive mindset.Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal issues in a business - friendly manner.Fluency in English, knowledge of additional languages advantageous.Are you ready to ‘go beyond’ to create value and make your mark for patients?
