More specifically, the MiddleOfficeManager plays a crucial role in ensuring that (1) Optimisation activities run efficiently, (2) key risks are monitored & managed, (3) effective decision-making can take place based on complete & accurate portfolio reporting (on P&L, physical and financial positions,Value-at-risk).
The same activities allow the MiddleOffice function to act as an important internal control function for the entire Optimisation department. Mission of the roleThe mission of the MiddleOfficemanager is as follows:
1) Portfolio Modelling:
Ensure accurate portfolio modelling & contract implementations 2) Portfolio Reporting:
Provide daily reporting & analysis on portfolio positions, mark-to-market & business risks 3) Business Risk:
Act as the first line of defence for important business risks (e.g.
risk of non-compliance with market regulation, risk of non-compliance with EDF risk mandate, risk of operational errors leading to financial losses) 4) Business Processes:
Structure ways of working around processes rather than individuals via the formalisation and improvement of Optimisation processes 5) Business Change:
Shape the future by defining the IT roadmap in collaboration with IT & providing Optimisation core business expertise and change management on IT transformationsSkillsExcellent motivational and leadership skills, successful in motivating teams across a variety of analytical disciplines.Strong organisational skills to support delivery of operational improvements.Rigorous regarding accuracy and quality.
