WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR EU Institutions:
BusinessIntelligenceExpert DG AGRI manages an extensive portfolio of Information Systems that support the core business activities of DG AGRI.
These Information Systems are mainly specific to DG AGRI since they support the management of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) performed by the Directorate-General.
The CAP Information Systems cover a wide range of business areas such as Strategy & Policy Analysis, Sustainability of the EU Agriculture, CAP Strategic Plans of Member States, International Relations in Agriculture, Agricultural Markets, Financial Management of Agricultural Funds, Assurance and Audit, Agricultural Legislation and Geographical Indications.
The assignment to Information Systems may change over time, according to the needs.
YOUR TASKS The tasks are related to the conception, development and maintenance of the CAP Information Systems.
Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex BusinessIntelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses).
Designing architectures both on the cloud and on premises (whether hosting or cloud on-premises) or combination of both (hybrid).
Gathering business requirements.
Designing ETL processes.
Data virtualization.
Data modelling.
Design and development of reporting applications Physical DB design.
DB performance analysis.
Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes.
Elaboration of test programs.
Writing of technical documentation.
Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system.
Participation in meetings with other project teams.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
At least 4 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query M language, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) …) At least 3 years of experience with ETL processes using SAP DS At least 4 years of experience with dashboard UI/UX design At least 4 years of experience with SQL Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture.
Good knowledge of data lake/data lakehouse design and architecture.
Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse.
Knowledge of non-relational database technologies.
Excellent knowledge of SQL.
Excellent knowledge of businessintelligence reporting tools.
Excellent knowledge of ETL tools.
Excellent knowledge of modelling tools.
Excellent knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools.
Knowledge of near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies.
Good knowledge of cloud-based businessintelligence design.
The following certificate is required for the performance of tasks:
Microsoft Certified:
Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
Excellent Team Player Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method and, more specifically, to follow naming conventions and coding standards.
Ability to understand, speak and write English and French High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained contain personal and confidential data EXTRA INFORMATION The services shall be performed in Brussels, Belgium in Hybrid mode (remotely, but within 2h drive) Both employee and freelance contract International environment The competence level will be tested during interview.
