ISS ESG’s Global ESG Methodology & Quality team is based in Germany, India, the UK, the Philippines, Sweden, and Belgium.
The successful candidate will work both independently as well as collaboratively with the local team and colleagues across our global offices.
Working in a dynamic market and international environment, we put great emphasis on cooperation and offer a welcoming, collegial working atmosphere.ResponsibilitiesDevelop expertise and take co-ownership of ISS ESG’s methodologies for impact, thematic and/or revenue-based solutions such as the SDG Solutions Assessment, SDG Impact Rating, Water Risk Rating or Screenings;Work on methodology projects related to the developments and enhancements of innovative thematicsolutions (e.g.
water, biodiversity, circular economy…) and sustainable investing labels and standards;Establish deep relationships and partner with research, product and client-facing teams to facilitate methodology developments aligned and consistent across other ISS ESG solutions such as ESG Corporate Ratings, Regulatory Solutions, and Alternative Assets;Monitor developments in the responsible investment space (e.g.
TNFD, SBTN), review and affirm alignment of our methodology with relevant regulatory and voluntary standards; Provide service/support to internal and external stakeholders in the form of explaining the methodology behind our solutions;Ensure methodology documentation (internal and external);Contribute to Thought Leadership pieces, and engage in client conversations and industry events.Qualifications3-5 years of relevant work experience in environmental/ESG Research, sustainability consulting, sustainable finance, or similar;Deep knowledge of ESG investment approaches, and of frameworks, reporting standards, and initiatives related to the SDGs and nature-related topics (such as water, deforestation, circular economy, oceans, climate or biodiversity);Experience with and technical understanding of data analysis and impact measurements;Experience with industry classifications systems (e.g.
GICS, Factset, SIC), corporate financial reporting, and nature-related/LCA databases is an asset;Excellent analytical and technical skills (skilled user in Python or statistical software is a plus); Conceptual thinking aptitude and ability to work independently;Excellent communication and writing skills;Ability to work flexibly with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic work environment.#LI-AV1 #ESG #ASSOCIATEWhat you can expect from usOur people are the moving force behind ISS STOXX.
