Tractebel’s Business Area Global Nuclear Civil Works & Infrastructures Department seeks for immediate mobilization a DesignControlManagerCivilSystems for the Pallas Reactor project, a research reactor under construction in Petten, Noord-Holland, the Netherlands. In the Pallas Reactor Project, Tractebel holds the Owner’s Engineer mission to Pallas. The DCM CivilSystems is a direct report to the Engineering Manager working in the Client’s Engineering Stream.
Responsabilities This senior role includes the following tasks.
Act as DesignControlManager of the CivilSystems; Responsible for implementation of Systems Engineering within design for civil structures; Fulfil a Design Authority role, meaning being responsible for acceptance of the civildesign, assessing and approving changes to the design, and ensuring knowledge management of the design of the systems within your scope; Owner of all the civilsystemsdesign meaning, being responsible for the technical design and safe and proper functioning of the assigned systems from ‘cradle to grave’ by:
defining, refining and substantiating PALLAS requirements for the design, scoping of the work the contractors should do, reviewing and accepting the design, identifying and mitigating risks to the design, overseeing the contractor to deliver a design that fulfils the PALLAS requirements within time and budget; Ensure the integrity of the design by implementing the requirements, procedures and plans defined by the design integration and design assurance team are implemented in the design; Enable design decisions through value engineering; Liaise with site engineering to support in non-conformities and technical support on site; Support the design integration manager to enable an integrated design; Support the design assurance manager to enable a traceable, verifiable and validated design that is under configuration management; Support the designcontrolmanagers for services and utilities as well as for nuclear systems to ensure the right design; Review the POSAR; Oversee independent reviews; Support the safety demonstration team to enable preparation of the safety analysis report; Support other streams such as Construction, Procurement, Quality and Manufacturing; Execute and resolve issues within the mandate as per SBS, WBS, schedule, budget, procedures; Timely escalation issues, delays, overruns, risks and work outside mandate.
Track and report monthly on the development of the design (activities, deliverables, risks, issues).
Preparing of progress reports.
Your profile Master in Civil Engineering 10+ years of experience in an industrial civil engineering environment Full English proficiency Willing to work up to 5 days per week in the Netherlands.
The office is located in Alkmaar, the construction site is located in Petten.
