10pt;>Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)
10pt;>The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider.
It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.
10pt;>To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce.
The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's:
NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s.
The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.
Role Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of the individual mainly focus on:
Deliver Secure NATO Cryptographic Installations:
Installs, commissions and certifies all Infrastructure-funded, and other, crypto equipment NATO wide, in support of NATO HQs, NATO Nations, NATO Operations and NATO Exercises;
Provide semi-formal training during initial installation of NATO cryptographic equipment and systems.
Performs duties as Central Key Distribution Authority;
Is responsible for the central distribution of electronic keys for NATO, ACO, ACT Crypto accounts and National Distribution Agencies (NDAs);
Receive electronic keys from the DACAN Key Management Infrastructure (DKMI);
Downloads and uploads electronic keys in the NATO Electronic Key Management System (NEKMS);
Conducts Inventories, destructions of Crypto material in his Crypto Account;
Issues or transfers crypto material as directed by the Controlling Authority to authorised COMSEC accounts (including subaccounts) or individual users.
If the material is classified, verifying that the individuals are cleared to the classification level of the material;
Manage Crypto equipment for NATO wide assets
Performs encryption and setup of data at rest for NATO wide customers.
Essential Skills and Experience
The required skillset for the contracted individual is extensive knowledge and experience (more than 5 years) in the following areas:
Knowledge of cryptographic installation techniques and standards;
Experience with Cryptographic Systems, design, management and implementation of modern Cryptographic systems and applications;
Very good knowledge of modern communication and Internet Protocol (IP) based networking technologies and systems including security aspects;
Experienced in and have a good knowledge of COMSEC principles and practices, including physical security standards relating to COMSEC;
Extensive experience in the analysis of risk and in the implementation and integration of INFOSEC protective measures;
Good experience with latest Virtualization Technologies, Oracle Linux and database;
Extensive experience in operating systems backup and restore;
Knowledge of CRYPTO accounting and distribution;
Working knowledge of the operation of communications systems and troubleshooting techniques;
Ability to work independently and in teams to achieve the desired goals, including the ability to monitor and support a team of industry;
Excellent communication and writing skills in English
Desirable Skills and Experience
Good understanding of the constraints related to IT systems on NATO networks is desirable;
Experience with implementation projects within NATO and/or National military organizations is desirable;
