In addition to these externally driven opportunities, new applications exist internally for use of RWD e.g.

clinical trial design, feasibility, planning and operations.As a result GSK is looking to bring on board an experienced real world data and analytics leader to lead our efforts within this space.

In this highly visible and critical role you will be responsible for setting the strategy for the purchase and utilization of real world databases across all areas of R&D and relevant medical & commercial activities.

You will also look to drive the technology business requirements to support easy access to and usage of RWD by relevant stakeholders across the company.

Further, you will ensure world-class capability within the RWDA team to drive the use of robust and cutting-edge analytics for RWD.As the VP, Real World Data and Analytics you will also work closely with senior stakeholders across the broader organisation and play a leading part in conversations around the strategic use of RWD as well as good analytic practices.Key Responsibilities in DetailCollaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across all parts of R&D and relevant parts of Medical & Commercial to identify real world data needs and ensure appropriate data sources are acquired and utilized and relevant strategic data partnerships in place; lead the development and execution of the strategy for purchasing, accessing, and utilizing real-world databases, considering factors such as data quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.Act as a senior GSK champion for the optimal and maximal utilization of RWD across enterprise-wide activities.Act as a senior GSK consultant on the optimal analytic methodology approaches at relevant governance boards and other senior meetings.Develop and implement a resourcing strategy, in partnership with key stakeholders across R&D and Medical/Commercial to ensure the department has the necessary skills, capacity and expertise to meet its objectives.Act as player-coach for departmental work by staying up to date with industry and regulatory trends and methodology advancements in real-world data and analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the department.Drive innovation across real world analytics methods through effective engagement with external experts, methodology and policy forums, and by leveraging knowledge of the external policy and decision maker environment.

Represent GSK on major external real world data and evidence initiatives.Develop and manage the RWDA department's budget, ensuring effective allocation of financial resources to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.Oversee the department's headcount, including hiring, performance management, and talent development with the goal of ensuring capability remains cutting edge.Drive the capability of analytics work within the department, including developing and maintaining a strong team of analytical professionals, implementing best practices, and leveraging advanced analytics techniques and tools.Collaborate with senior leaders across the enterprise to align the department's strategy with the overall organizational goals and ensure the department's activities support broader business objectives.

Make recommendations on future strategic directions for RWDA capabilities to ensure GSK maintains a leading position in this field.Monitor and report on the department's performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the department.Joint sponsorship of the non-interventional study Protocol Review Committee with VP Epidemiology.Contribute to and drive the broader cutting edge statistical vision and strategy with other Biostats Leadership Team colleagues.Candidate ProfileBasic QualificationsMasters in statistics or similar analytical discipline (e.g.

Mathematics, Economics, Epidemiology, Informatics).10+ years of experience working in the field of real world data and analytics either within pharmaceutical industry or academia.Experience of quantitative scientific methods and epidemiologic designs applied to drug development and post-marketing work.Experience with analytical techniques in observational (non-interventional) research, including using databases to answer complex longitudinal research questions.Preferred QualificationsPhD/DPhil in statistics or similar analytical discipline would be preferred.Understanding of Pharma R&D, especially drug/vaccine development stages including the role of RWDA across lifecycle.Strong understanding of different technology domains (infrastructure, architecture, analytics applications) in relation to RWD/RWE.Understanding of healthcare markets, regulatory and reimbursement decision making globally.Leadership experience within a global environment.Ability to communicate technical and complex concepts and results effectively to a variety of audiences to impact decision making.Relevant leadership and management experience.Excellent project management skills/leading projectsStrong written and verbal communication skillsSophisticated abilities with respect to influencing and in partnering with diverse stakeholders of varying levels of seniority.To apply please submit a CV and cover letter by Tuesday 30th April 2024.Please visit to learn more about the comprehensive benefits program GSK offers US employees.
