2B.The VP, Head of Global CapitalProjects will be a member of the Engineering Leadership team and will collaborate with the Supply Chain Heads of Engineering on the delivery of capitalprojects of all sizes across the supply network and will also be responsible for the assembly of the capital portfolio and tools for the prioritisation of the same to guide business level stakeholder decision making.Since construction execution is a major part of the role, and one of the companies most significant EHS risks, the job holder will also provide and maintain a CoE for construction methods and execution that delivers the companies ambitions on safety.In delivering the above, they will develop, maintain, and make available through the company a methodology for the delivery of capitalprojects, such as the Project Management Framework and provide assurance that this is in place and in use.The key responsibilities are as follows:
Agreeing annual objectives and deliverables with the SVP Engineering and EHS targeted at delivery of a capital portfolio delivered safely, compliantly and improving against benchmarks.Development and assembly of the major capital program and the tools to prioritise and manage, ensuring all asset-based capital investments can be delivered to the required specification, capacity, schedule, and cost.Direction of the timely and accurate management information necessary for stakeholders to take strategic decisions on capital investment.Ensuring the availability of the right capability, internal and external, able to assemble, define and manage the capital portfolio.Ensuring statutory, PMF, ABAC and EHS compliance programs are in place for all projects and ensuring that all projects are delivered to meet the requirements of all local, national and GSK regulations.Continued health and development of Project Management processes able to deliver projects in line with external best practice.Development of all necessary reporting processes and capabilities able to provide management information and assurance that ensures compliance to governance and reporting regulations.Ensuring the development of agile commercial strategies that allow us to access and obtain value with the 3rd party supplier required to execute the portfolio.Development of the capability, processes, tools, and suppliers able to ensure that we deliver all capitalprojects in a safe way in line with our EHS targets.As a member of the Engineering and EHS, advocacy of the value of engineering and support to the continuing health of engineering as a function with GSK.Basic Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering - physical engineering discipline (not Tech) associated with capital and construction delivery.Experience managing a minimum of £500mm Capital Portfolio over a network of multiple sites, across an entire supply chain.Extensive experience in the initiation to delivery of high-tech life science projects in multiple geographies and leadership of a capitalprojects organisation.Experience spent in the capital project lifecycle from Design to Operation.Experience in roles such as, project manager across different geographies, cultures and working practice during career.Preferred Qualifications:
Operational engineering experienceManagement of a central (corporate) capital delivery organisationExperience reporting Annual Capital plans and/or major capitalprojects to CFO/CEOExperience of leading teams of >50 FTEs + 1000’s of Contract Workers in global and diverse culturesProfessional engineering certification, such as C.
