Our company has a strong international background, with sales offices strategically located around the world.Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou will be part of the R&D Access System & Driver EmbeddedSoftwareteam of 17 people located in France, Belgium, India.
You will lead & coordinate a local team of 10 junior & experienced developers in Leuven, reporting to the local Team Manager.You will play a key role in the follow-up of your team for the creation of embeddedsoftware for our routers.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team to develop and integrate proprietary and third-party technologies into a comprehensive and cost-efficient design.You will ensure to accomplish your projects & tasks on time & within budget, in accordance with the goals setup by the company.As an R&D Teamleader, you will:
Manage a team of embeddedsoftware engineersWorkload estimation & resource allocationDaily follow-up of technical progress & issuesAssist the team members during developmentWork closely with other teamleaders and developmentteamsParticipate in architecture definition & write technical specificationsReview coding of implemented modulesInvestigate, analyze and document reported defectsCreate, implement, and maintain technical documentationMonitor and report on the status & progress of your team75% technical development + assistance & 25% managing + leading your team.Work in a multi-site & multi-language environment with different R&D centersProfile and skillsEducation:
Master’s degree in engineering or SoftwareDevelopmentMin.
5yrs experience as TeamLeader in a technical R&D environmentQualification / Competencies:
A practical knowledge of networks, broadband and telecommunication environmentExpertise in C codingExperience withdevelopment of (Linux) driversprocessor architectures (ARM/PowerPC/Intel)multicore developmentdevelopment & integration of data handling solutions (up to layer 4)Good ability to interpret requirements & technical specification documentsKnowledge & experience in Agile project coordination – Scrum or KanbanHard/soft skills:
