Understands structure property relations and can setup, execute and evaluate DOEs to target the required product profile.
Works cross-functional with different Research and Development groups (including long-term research, synthesis group and pilot team) to communicate test results and overcome issues, find solutions, and achieve objectives.
Designs and sets up laboratory equipment, analyzes results, and recommends courses of action.
Works with operations to scale up new products and formulations from lab trials to pilot and commercial production.
Promotes UP and VE resins technology through presentations, publications and participation at trade shows and conferences.
Actively participates in research departmental safety programs.
Participates in Stage Gate projects as a team leader or team member.
Assists customers in troubleshooting issues when using allnex’s technologies.
Oversees the global intellectual property in UP and VE technologies and generates intellectual property when applicable.
Required skills and experience 5-10 years of experience in R&D or technical service of which at least 5 years in developing UP and VE resins and formulations for composite applications (expertise in UP and/or Vinylesters is preferred) Knowledge of peroxide cure formulations and styrene-free solutions for composites.
Solid understanding in polymer physics and polymer chemistry.
A creative and resourceful problem-solver, balancing commercialization speed and scientific rigor in a dynamic environment.
Track record of successful project leadership and new product commercialization.
Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of collaboration, networking and teamwork, exceptional time and project management skills.
Qualifications Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, materials science or related discipline.
PhD is preferred but not required.
Expert in using statistical tools such as Design-Expert or JMP to design experiments and analyse the results.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
