The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments within the EMEA Development Centre of Daikin.
The department focusses on hard - and software developments for HVAC-R and building - control.
Its mission is to drive sustainable - and effective - solutions and sparking a good climate for the generations to come.
The department does this by designing smarter controls, digital interfaces, connected products and integration with smart buildings/homes, smart grids, smart cities, etc.
The controller portfolio includes mobile apps (e.g.
Onecta), cloud applications (e.g.
Daikin Cloud Service), room controllers (e.g.
Madoka), interactive human machine interfaces, etc.The department plays an essential role in realizing the sustainability mission of Daikin and supporting the future growth of the company.Due to the company’s expansion, Daikin is currently looking for a m/f:
StrategicProductManager A strategic initiator of innovative solutions in residential control systems. You are responsible for building and executing the residential control product strategy for the EMEA region.
You will be the key-person to define, develop, negotiate and manage the residential control portfolio and roadmap based on the market needs.
This role requires product management skills as well as technical affinity and business development affinity.
You will be the senior member of a team where you will help to mentor, guide and inspire people to achieve the common goals.
Your Position• You focus on defining the control strategy and vision and realise the digital shift in the residential segment.• You develop and manage the residential control Product Marketing strategy in the EMEA zone, working closely together with general management, marketing, sales, legal, environmental, quality, compliance, product development and supply.
• You yearly co-define and approve the focus on development on HQ level.• You support new product launches including internal and external communication, product content creation and event planning.• Partner with the R&D teams and product sales business units to incorporate quantitative and qualitative consumer data and usability research to drive product development and enhancements.
• Lead analysis of customer and product metrics to determine the right product and feature set.
Identify and communicate on-going understanding of competitor activity and relevant industry trends.
• You support development and presentations of business cases for new products and other strategic projects.• Interface with key-accounts to respond to questions and requests regarding current and future product requirements, performance and impacts.• Provide hands-on technical leadership, monitor technology shifts and trends in the IoT marketplace.
Evaluate technologies and partners leading to buy, build, or partner decisions.
Your Profile• You have experience in business development and product management.
Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience.• Preferably you obtained a master’s degree in Electronical Engineering or are equal due to technical experience.• You have an interest in a residential, technical B2B2C environment.
• A background in software and interface technologies is an asset.
• You combine a helicopter view with a solution-driven and innovative mindset.• With your commercial flair and maturity, you connect quickly with internal and external stakeholders and succeed to convince them of your point of view, based on objective arguments.
You are able to rapidly adjust your communication style towards your audience and give a credible, result-oriented impression.• You are a good negotiator and are able to compromise.
• You keep yourself up-to-date about trends, competitors, developments in the market.• People management experience and the ability to inspire people to achieve common goals.• You thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to change.• You are available to travel up to 10% of your time.• You are proficient in English (written/oral).
Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
