Tractebel’s Global Business area NUC seeks for its “Safety and Nuclear Engineering” Department a (m/f) :

Within the ‘Safety and Nuclear Engineering’ department of the Global Business Area NUC of Tractebel Engineering, the CFD & Accident studies Group is in charge, among others, of the following disciplines:

Licensing Studies (SGTR, FWLB,…) – contributing to the Safety demonstration of Nuclear installation; PWR Plant Operation Support (transient analysis, procedure optimization,…); Performing design/operational support studies using several scientific tools as:

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) aiming high fidelity/small scale thermal-hydraulic effects ; System tools (such as RELAP, TRACE and/or FlowMaster) aiming system scale analysis; Performing Severe Accidents Studies using several scientific tools aiming the system scale response; Performing Multi-scale and Multi-physics simulations using the CERES Tractebel platform; Performing Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) for Level 2 aiming releases to the environment.

Your function You are in charge of performing Severe Accident Studies using the most appropriate tool; You perform complex engineering analysis in the domain of nuclear reactor using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g.

MELCOR, ASTEC Severe Accidents modeling tools); You participate to the development and the analysis associated with PSA level 2 evaluation; You can participate to complex multi-disciplinary discussions with the building a multi-physics and/or multi-scale analysis involving CERES platform; You defend your work to the Customer and the Safety Authorities; You write technical reports about the studies performed; You work in close interaction with your 17 colleagues dispatched between France (Lyon) and Belgium (Namur and Brussels).

Qualifications You obtained a Master in Engineering or a Master in Physics or Chemistry; You have a prior industrial experience in performing licensing study for nuclear installations and you are familiar with international codes and standards; You have knowledge of the Belgian nuclear domain; You are able to communicate (write/speak) in English and Dutch or French; You are interested to become a high-level expert in this topic; Knowledge of task automation through scripts (e.g.:

Python, bash,…) is an asset; Knowledge of multi-physics and/or multi-scale technics is an asset.
