Join us in Mons, a culturally and economically vibrant city! What does your role involve? Technical Support for Research Projects:
Provide technical support for diverse refractory product lines.
Experimentation and Data Analysis:
Plan and execute experiments, and analyze and interpret resulting data.
Simulation Tool Development:
Construct simulation tools for internal use and applications.
Literature Review:
Stay abreast of current literature to support ongoing and future product development efforts.
Sales Team Support:
Assist the sales team with R&D-related requests to enhance Vesuvius customers' metallurgical processes.
Community Engagement:
Contribute to developing networks within science communities.
Requirements Ph.D.
or experienced Master's (5 years of R&D experience) in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering.
Specialization in one of the specified fields such as ferrous or non-ferrous continuous casting, steelmaking processes, vessel integrity and refractory.
Work proficiency in English, with knowledge of French as a plus.
Project management experience in metallurgical industries or related fields.
Post-doctoral experience is considered a plus.
Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience and proficiency in :
High-Temperature Experimental Studies:
In ferrous or non-ferrous metallurgy.
Thermodynamic Modeling:
Significant experience in modeling and reaction kinetics of metallurgical processes.
Material Characterization:
Utilizing microanalysis techniques such as SEM/EDS, ASPEX.
Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience and proficiency in at least 4 of the following areas:
Operational or research experience in steelmaking processes.
Theoretical and practical knowledge with a focus on secondary metallurgy and continuous casting.
In-depth knowledge of steel grades and their applications.
Extensive knowledge of refractory applications in steelmaking and casting processes.
SteelRefractoryInteraction:
Expertise in steelrefractoryinteraction and post-mortem analysis.
Knowledge Machine Learning.
Microstructure and Thermomechanical Properties:
Understanding the correlation between microstructure and thermomechanical properties.
Available to travel worldwide up to 20% of your working hours.
