Support next generation porous transport layer research and development within the hydrogen R&D group of Bekaert.
Responsible of specific sub-projects and collaborate with various department of Bekaert Brings new innovative ideas forward and develops them with the team You will design and construct quick and easy test set-ups to evaluate new ideas and principles towards performance, quality and possibility to implement in industrial environments.
Ensure that everything is implemented in a safe manner, by means of risk analysis Prepares DOE based on theoretical knowledge and well-grounded assumptions.
These DOE are executed at Bekaert, customers and/or third parties.
Plan and execute required characterisation of PTL samples such as SEM, TEM, EDX, mechanical and electrical characterisation.
Evaluate the results, makes conclusions, proposals and possible iterations Secures and documents the knowledge acquired Contribute to intellectual property Takes clear and effective actions to meet customer inquiries.
Coordination of sample manufacturing across the development phases and for new products in consultation with R&D manager Maintain a database of own and competition products Tracks relevant technological developments regarding test and research equipment..
Can operate all necessary machinery and test equipment, with a good understanding of its operation About You Essential skills & competencies You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in material sciences/chemistry or related field or equivalent by experience.
Previous experience in industrial settings with a focus on fiber production, webbing, sintering would be considered an advantage.
You have an innovative and creative mindset (thinking outside of the box).
You are hands on, a true team player & result/action oriented.
You are a strong communicator & proactive problem solver.
You’re excellent in dealing with ambiguity (dare to challenge the ‘what is’).
You are structured in your approach and have high attention to detail in way-of-working.
You’re fluent English, Dutch would be considered an advantage.
