As the Manager of TrainingServices, you will play a pivotal role in driving our training initiatives forward, overseeing the development, implementation, empowering fellow pilots to reach new heights in their careers through innovative and personalized training programs.Summary of the RoleThe ManagerTrainingServices report to their respective operations leader, within their assigned domain to ensure that all training activities are delivered in conformance with the ATO approval, defined standard processes, and customer contracts, and that the highest standards of safety, compliance and training quality are maintained.
ManagerTrainingServices require ratification from the Head of Training prior to overseeing ATO training, additional qualifications are required before exercising delegated authority for the ATO.
The MTS leads the training department covering the two locations with direct reports taking care of qualification management of instructors, record creation and completion, training coordination and giving all instructors both staff and contractors a ‘direct’ report.
The MTS collaborates with many stakeholders in the companies’ network and works closely with the local customer services (rostering) and technical services departments to deliver the best product possible as an organization.
The role is therefore positioned in the middle of CAE’s matrix organization:
Department manager reporting into the AOL Member of the area management team Member of the regulatory required ATO structure Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAct as line manager for TrainingManager &/or instructors Report any concerns with sufficient staffing levels to the Deputy Head of Training Support, supervise, guide, lead the ground school, and flight simulation training instructors In collaboration with the Deputy Head of Training and CFI, manage instructors’ performance issues Ensure that training is delivered in conformance with the ATO OM and TM, and report any discrepancy with regulations to the Deputy Head of Training Deal with Instructor and clients' feedback Responsible to report on Training KPI’s Promote the compliance & safety culture of the company and SMS (Safety Management Systems) & Non-Compliance reporting Report revision needs on all ATO courseware and manuals.
Partner with the Sales Team to assist with potential client/cadet needs Other duties as requested by the Deputy Head of Training Delegated Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs required represent and act on the behalf of the Deputy Head of Training Through the TrainingManagers, ground-school and flight simulation instructors ensure that training is done in strict adherence to approved Operations and Training Manuals, SOPs, and syllabi.
Manage client training and performance issues following directives in the ATO-OM chapter 7 and escalate client’s performance issues that are beyond ATO-OM chapter 7’s scope to be managed in collaboration with the Deputy Head of Training.
Develop renewal training footprints within the established ATO guidelines.
Act as a signatory on behalf of the Head of Training Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university, or relevant experience Valid EASA FCL Valid EASA SFI/TRI or SFE/TRE Rating EASA ATPL License Proven Instructor Experience in ATO or OEM.
Experience as a manager in the flight simulation and/or aviation training industry that includes supervision of active pilot training. Active and outstanding knowledge of the EASA regulatory framework on licensing and training organization Demonstrated experience with National Aviation Authority regulations.
7+ years’ experience in the flight simulation and/or aviation training industry.
Ability to travel to Brussels Training Facilit.
Proficient in the standard Microsoft Office suite as needed (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) Attributes and Competencies Instructor Expertise:
