Sampling and Analysis:
Collect soil, water, and air samples for laboratory analysis.
Assist in interpreting results to identify contamination sources.Data Collection and Field Registration:
Record and document field observations, measurements, and other relevant data.
Maintain accurate and detailed field notes, offering valuable input for comprehensive reports.Laboratory Orders:
Prepare laboratory orders and ensure the timely and accurate submission of samples for analysis.Collaboration:
Work closely with senior fieldworkers, environmental scientists, and project managers to execute investigations effectively.Autonomy and Initiative:
Demonstrate a degree of autonomy in fieldwork, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting and implementing ways to enhance processes.Health & Safety Commitment:
Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety by following established protocols and promoting a safe working environment.Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and project timelines.Legislation and Accreditation:
Learn and stay informed about local procedures and legislation related to contaminated land investigations.
Obtain or be willing to acquire local accreditations, such as BRL in the Netherlands.Language Skills:
Fluency in both Dutch and English is required, French is a plus.Project Management Support:
Work under the direction of project managers to assist in project planning, coordination, and execution.Subcontractor Supervision:
Be comfortable, or at least interested, in supervising and directing environmental subcontractors as needed.Continuous Learning:
Exhibit eagerness to learn and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of expertise.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field OR relevant fieldwork experience.Strong passion for environmental issues and a commitment to sustainable practices.Flexibility and adaptability to work in various field conditions and locations.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Basic understanding of environmental regulations and guidelines.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various field locations.Flexibility to work long days from time to time.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in environmental fieldwork or related internships (for those with a degree).Familiarity with contaminated land investigation techniques.Knowledge of relevant environmental laws and regulations in Flanders and the Netherlands.Benefits:
