Provide an intellectual property model to support the contract negotiations from business & project development. Assist the legal officer in drafting IP ownership, licensing, and other IP related clauses. Be the expert directly in contact with external clients in challenging IP negotiations. Capture available IP within the organization (from IP portfolio and litigation group) and inform about related contractual provisions. Create and update our intellectual property strategy, aligned with R&D and business strategy. Next to the daily tasks as listed here above, the following activities will also be part of the job:
Providing IP intelligence (overview available IP, constraints, external IP landscape, IP business offering and alignment).Co-manage (infringement/validity) cases with IP portfolio and litigation group and risk mitigation. Conduct internal debriefing and audits for due diligence.

Who you are You have a Master or PhD degree in Engineering or Sciences (Electrical Engineering or Solid-State Physics., , with a focus on semiconductor processing and/or chip design. You must have comprehensive knowledge and experience of intellectual property rights and licensing, both in theory and in practice.
A strong track record of negotiating and managing IP and/or technology licensing agreements with various partners and customers is a plus. You have excellent English communication and presentation skills, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of additional languages is a plus. You have a diplomatic and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations. You have a high work ethic and a proactive attitude, with the capacity to cope with a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. You work well in a team and are open to share and pick up new skills from others. You have a continuous learning attitude and a curiosity for new technologies and innovations. imec
