The team leverages a range of GSMA-hosted events to reach key stakeholders, from the highly-regarded Ministerial Programme at Mobile World Congress Barcelona to regional policy conferences and events, to individual meetings and workshops with governments and regulators.

Topics reflect the key challenges and opportunities facing the mobile industry, in areas such as network economics and competition, infrastructure policy and regulation, the digital economy, taxation, data privacy and cybersecurity.About the RoleYour core responsibilities are to set and implement the business strategy, manage the team and budgets to achieve annual targets, and to participate in high-level activities/ engagements to further our policy and regulatory aims.

You will also contribute to wider business decision-making as a member of the GSMA's extended leadership team, and you will be expected to model the organisational values of passion, excellence and collaboration.A key aspect of the role is to develop and nurture relationships with executives of GSMA member companies, particularly Chief Regulatory Officers or similar, to stay well attuned to their business priorities and policy-related pain points.

Planning the bi-annual in-person meeting of the GSMA Policy Group, a Board committee, is an essential part of this member engagement.Your responsibilities will include periodic media interviews and public speaking, as well as meetings with governments and institutions, to share GSMA data and analysis, promote industry positions and to support strategic collaborations.

As such, the ability to travel and work cross-culturally are musts.Other responsibilities include:

Cultivating and inspiring a team of policy experts to achieve excellent results and meet organisational targets.Overseeing development of GSMA position papers, policy briefings and proposed amendments to draft laws.Collaborating effectively across the GSMA.

This includes working closely with regional advocacy teams, the External Affairs team, other programmes and technology experts to align messaging, and guiding the marketing team to effectively promote advocacy content.Representing the GSMA and the mobile industry at internal and external meetings and eventsAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

Experience and familiarity with the mobile industry and its policy and regulatory challengesExtensive experience in government and regulatory affairs and influencing policy decision-makingExperience commissioning policy research and analysis, including scoping and overseeing such projectsBusiness acumen including planning, budgeting, managing people and directing resources to achieve targetsFluent and compelling written and oral communications skills, particularly in English, including the ability to structure and tailor complex content into clear messaging for different stakeholder audiencesExperience establishing, managing and inspiring productive relationships with senior-level stakeholdersExcellent cultural awareness and a desire to work with teams around the worldAbility to handle multiple tasks at the same timeContract typeRegularWorker typeEmployeeWhat We OfferWorking at the GSMA offers you unparalleled access to the mobile industry.
