Being a member of the GovernmentRelations team, the GovernmentRelationsManager will represent the interests of DTCC before EU policymakers and regulators as well as elected officials and will assist in developing and advancing DTCC positions concerning EU public policy issues.
The successful candidate will have and develop a strong network of external and internal relationships.
External relationships include those with key legislative, executive and industry officials with a focus on European Parliament, European Commission and Council of Ministers of the EU.
Internal relationships include DTCC's business lines and offices of Risk, Marketing and Communications, Technology, Legal and Compliance, among others.
The successful candidate will also work with DTCC’s internal departments and business and policy colleagues in the US, Asia and Europe on the impact of new policy initiatives and support DTCC Executives and experts in external activities with public officials and industry groups.
the successful candidate will be expected to develop an expertise on specific policy areas and also represent DTCC externally on these issues.
This role requires an individual who is able to develop a good understanding of how political, regulatory and policy issues interact, their implications on the DTCC, and help identify opportunities and threats stemming from this.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Help to maintain, develop and advance DTCC’s governmentrelations function, with particular focus on the European Union and its member states.
Develop and execute DTCC’s public policy position and strategy.
Monitor and analyse EU policy and regulatory developments relevant to DTCC, including business risks and opportunities arising from legislative and regulatory proposals.
Preparing position papers, senior executive briefs, and consultation responses in support of DTCC’s business and policy priorities.
Support Senior Management at external events and activities.

**Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in politics, economics, law, finance or any other relevant field.
Talents Needed For Success:
5+ years’ experience in EU’s policy making and (ideally) in financial services.
Previous experience with policymakers, regulators and/or supervisors is a plus.
Understanding of issues relating to financial market infrastructure, international data flows, operational resilience and financial innovation.
Demonstrated ability to analyze policy issues and the political context and translate this into an actionable engagement strategy.
Candidate must be fluent in English and at least one other EU native language.
