Front-end Developer Join our client’s team in Brussels as Front-end Developer within the European Commission.
DG GROW B3 in partnership with other Commission services and stakeholders, provides high quality corporate solutions/information systems for the Policy Units in GROW, but also to Member States, enabling the successful implementation of the Commission's Digital Transformation and EU policies.
In close collaboration with other Commission services and its customers, DG GROW B3 builds and operates solutions in the following areas:
Management and implementation of directives and policies.
Support of and interface to enterprises and SME's.
Financial management, reporting and monitoring of financial transactions.
Contractual management.
Control of business processes and workflows.
Database management.
Document and content management.
Communication.
Human resources.
Interface and data exchange with Commission's applications and Information Systems In this context, DG GROW B3 is looking for a front-end developer.
The service provider will be part of DG GROW B3’s Application Development sector working on the front-end of one or more products delivered by the application development team.
YOUR TASKS Development of front-end website architecture.
Design of user interactions on web pages.
Development of features to enhance the user experience.
Building reusable code for future use.
Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
Cross-platform optimisation.
Design responsive applications.
Design and develop APIs.
Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
Maintenance of code integrity and organisation.
Writing clean, functional code on the front-end.
Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.
Meet both technical and consumer needs.
Write technical documentation.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Following specific expertise is mandatory:
Minimum 10 years' experience in design of UI for information systems Minimum 10 years’ experience in HTML Minimum 10 years in CSS Minimum 8 years’ experience in Javascript Minimum 5 years' experience with Angular2 framework or similar Minimum 5 years in Typescript Minimum 5 years in Bootstrap Minimum 5 years' experience in developing secure web applications Minimum 4 years' experience with XML Minimum 4 years’ experience with Json Minimum 3 years' experience with JIRA and GIT Minimum 2 years’ experience in RxJS Requirements:
Following skills and knowledge are required:
Proficiency in HTML5, Javascript, ES6, CSS3 and SASS.
Proficiency in Angular (latest versions, build and automation tools), Bootstrap and Typescript.
Good knowledge in client-side development of complex applications involving:
multi module, Web Components.
Experience in Web security, authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, Open ID Connect).
Experience with the following tools:
Git, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Nexus, Crucible, Jenkins and Sonar.
Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
Understanding of key design principles.
Understanding of SEO principles.
Experience in Redux architecture is a plus.
Autonomous.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Capability of integration in an international/multi - cultural environment.
Excellent verbal communication.
Attention to details.
Good problem-solving skills.
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects.
Excellent Team Player.
Ability to understand, speak and write English (C1/C2) will be an advantage.
High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DG GROW B3 contain personal and confidential data EXTRA INFORMATION It will be required to work remotely from home in Near-site location allowing to reach the Commission premises in Brussels within 2 hours.
