WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR EU Institutions:
TestAutomationSpecialist You will work for unit DIGIT.D3 of the European Commission as part of the eDelivery building block, initially created as part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and now continued as part of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP).
The building block aims to enable Trans-European interoperability in a manner that is reusable across sectors and policies in the EU.
The eDelivery building block enables Businesses and Public Administrations to exchange electronic data and documents in digital format with other organisations (and indirectly with citizens) in an interoperable, secure, reliable and trusted way.
The eDelivery building block prescribes the use of Access Points implementing the AS4 Messaging Protocol according to the implementation guidelines defined in the eDelivery AS4 profile.
In addition to maintaining the profile and providing profile conformance testing service for vendors who create their own Access Point software, eDelivery also provides its own sample implementation of the profile, Domibus.
To enable dynamic discovery of Access Points, the eDelivery building block also defines profiles for the Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) and Service Metadata Locator (SML) specifications and provides sample implementations thereof.
YOUR TASKS Provision of technical expertise in a selection of the areas described in the section ‘Knowledge and skills’ Design, preparation and monitoring of automated tests Contribution to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing within the testing process Evaluation of the tools and technology for automation best fit to the project within the DevSecOps approach Creation of an approach and methodology for building a testautomation architecture Design and development (new or modified) of testautomation solutions that meet the business needs and apply continuous integration technologies, especially targeting backend/web servicebased interfaces Enabling the transition of testing from a manual to an automated approach Creation of automated test reporting and metrics collection Testautomation Technology watch and adoption Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE The following specific expertise is mandatory:
at least 1 year of specific expertise in Java at least 1 year of specific expertise in Web Services The following skills and knowledge are required:
Knowledge of testautomation technologies, tools and techniques Hands-on experience in the creation of testautomation solutions Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Tracking tools Experience in the test data management Knowledge of scripting and programming Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture Knowledge of Relational DBMS Familiarity with interoperability technology (e.g., web services, message-oriented middleware) Ability to apply high quality standards Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team Ability to participate in multilingual meetings Good communication skills Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects Excellent Team Player Ability to understand, speak and write English (C1) Ability to understand, speak and write French (C1) will be an advantage High degree of discretion and integrity is required EXTRA INFORMATION The services shall be performed remotely (work from home) in Near-site location allowing to reach the Commission premises in Brussels within 2 hours.
You may be requested to participate in the meetings with the Commission's services in Brussels (and exceptionally in other locations) Permanent and Freelance competitive contracts Laptop provided by the Commission International and friendly environment.
The competence level will be tested during interview.
