WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR EU Institutions:
Front-End Developer Join our client's team in Brussels.
As a Front-End Developer, you will be at the forefront of shaping and maintaining the user interface for IT systems.
Your role extends beyond development, encompassing the definition of solutions for system enhancements and fixes.
Integral to this position is the documentation of existing systems and active participation in identifying improvements.
Coordinating and reviewing current IT systems, you will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business analysts, customers, users, project leaders, and fellow developers.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include providing support to users by addressing queries related to existing IT systems.
You will contribute to the seamless evolution and optimization of the digital landscapes.
YOUR TASKS Development and maintenance of the Front End of our IT systems Definition of the proposed solutions for fixing or improving our IT systems Documentation of the existing IT systems Assistance with in identifying improvements to our IT systems Coordination and review of the current IT systems Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers Support of users by answering their queries about existing IT systems YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE The following specific expertise is mandatory:
at least 5 years of specific expertise in developing front end components for web applications at least 3 years of specific expertise using web services and APIs The following skills and knowledge are required:
Very good knowledge of HTML 5, CSS 2 and 3, JavaScript Good knowledge of Jira and Confluence Good knowledge of jQuery Knowledge of SQL would be a plus Ability to fix problems efficiently and fast Ability to give business and technical presentations Ability to apply high quality standards Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in front end web development Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences Analysis and problem solving skills Capability to write clear and structured technical documents Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects Excellent Team Player Ability to understand, speak and write English C1 will be an advantage High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained contain personal and confidential data EXTRA INFORMATION The services shall be performed in Brussels, Belgium in Hybrid mode Both employee and freelance contract International environment The competence level will be tested during interview.
