WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR EU Institutions:
DataScientist and AI Specialist Join our client’s team in Brussels as a DataScientist and AI Specialist for the European Institutions.
DG Regio, part of the European Commission, focuses on reducing regional disparities across EU member states.
It manages funds like the ERDF and Cohesion Fund to support economic growth and social cohesion in less developed regions.
Through programs like Interreg, it fosters collaboration among neighboring regions.
Urban development initiatives aim to enhance sustainability and inclusivity in EU cities.
DG Regio evaluates and monitors regional policies to ensure their effectiveness and compliance.
Its efforts contribute to the overall prosperity and integration of the European Union.
YOUR TASKS Collect business requirement and develop advanced data mining solutions or identify, assess and deploy relevant existing data mining, machine learning and business intelligence solution Specification and design of presentation interfaces with optimal usability/user experience Identify, collect, convert and update different data types/sets in several locations (e.g.
ETL) Produces data models according to specific problems statements.
Scripting and programming.
Contribute to the design and implementation of the analytics architecture and its solution stack (including performance aspects, physical design, capacity dimensions etc…) Write the different documentation associated with the tasks and liaise with other project teams as necessary to address cross-project interdependencies.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE The following specific expertise is requested for the performance of tasks:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Data Science and AI.
Excellent command of Python and proficiency with relevant libraries, including but not limited to NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace; Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the following areas (1) Oracle RDMBS Database development, (2) Data Modelling and SQL; (3) ETL tools (e.g.
BODI, BODS Apache Airflow, dbt); Minimum 2 year of professional experience with data visualisation and/or BI tools (e.g.
Power BI); Track record of implemented solutions that solved business problems and produced tangible results Minimum 2 year with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with Knowledge Graphs and SPARQL is an asset.
Minimum 2 years of experience with version control system (Git Hub) The following skills are required:
Excellent knowledge of Data Science techniques especially in machine learning and NLP.
Prior experience with Large Language Model is considered an asset Extensive experience in data analysis, with the ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights Clean and transform raw data into a usable format for analysis.
This includes designing and deploying Extraction Transformation and Load (ETL) processes Produces data models according to specific problems statements Knowledge and experience working in cloud environments Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation Ability to deliver presentation to both business and technical audiences Solution-oriented and accuracy to detail Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments Due to the particular nature of a large international organization such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team Ability to make presentations to stakeholders, excellent communicator Ability to participate in multilingual meetings Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects Excellent Team Player Very good ability to understand, speak and write in very good English, knowledge of any other language will be an advantage High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained contain personal and confidential data Knowledge of European Commission IT environment it is considered an asset EXTRA INFORMATION Work location:
Brussels possibility to telework part of the weekly working time, upon agreement.
