BusinessIntelligenceExpert(fullremote) Join our client's team as a BusinessIntelligenceExpert and give support to the European Institutions working from home.
Unit SANTE.R.4 'Information Systems' is in charge of developing, maintaining and operating the DG's information systems at the three geographical sites in Brussels, Luxembourg and Grange.
The unit works directly with the policy units on digital solutions to implement SANTE's policies and manages the local IT infrastructure and support.
The mission of DG SANTE is to:
improve and protect human health, and support the modernisation of Europe's health systems; ensure that all food, feed and medicinal products marketed in the EU are safe and that EU standards are promoted globally; protect animal health and welfare and plant health; contribute to a well-functioning and fair internal market in food.
Health and Food Safety IT projects and operations:
//ec.europa.eu/info/topics/food-safety_en YOUR TASKS Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex BusinessIntelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses).
Designing architectures both on the cloud and on premises (whether hosting or cloud onpremises) or combination of both (hybrid).
Gathering business requirements.
Designing ETL processes.
Data virtualization.
Data modelling.
Design and development of reporting applications Physical DB design.
DB performance analysis.
Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes.
Elaboration of test programs.
Writing of technical documentation.
Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system.
Participation in meetings with other project teams.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE At least 13 years of specific expertise in:
Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse Excellent knowledge of SQL.
Excellent knowledge of businessintelligence reporting tools.
Excellent knowledge of modelling tools Excellent knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools Following skills and knowledge are required:
Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method and, more specifically, to follow naming conventions and coding standards.
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects Excellent Team Player Ability to understand, speak and write English C1 High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained contain personal and confidential data EXTRA INFORMATION The services shall be performed in full-remote (work from home) from a EU Nation.
