The Department of Economics in the Faculty of Business and Economics is looking for a full-time (%) doctoralscholarshipholder in the field of internationaltrade.PositionYou will work actively on the preparation of a PhD thesis in economics under the supervision of Prof.
Elsa Leromain and Prof.
Mathieu Parenti.
The research project DEEPTRADE seeks to understand macro and micro-level impacts of deep trade agreements.
Specifically, the goal is to examine the role of deep provisions within trade agreements, as opposed to trade agreements that solely focus on standard tariffs.You will publish scientific articles related to the research project.You will carry out a limited number of teaching and research support tasks for the Department of Economics.ProfileYou have strong interest in internationaltrade, and specifically trade policy issues.You hold a Master degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Social Economics or Business Engineering.You can demonstrate excellent study results.You have good knowledge of quantitative methods or econometrics.You have a solid background in internationaltrade theory and have experience working with internationaltrade datasets.You have excellent language skills in spoken and written English.Your teaching competences are in line with the University of Antwerp’s .Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and .You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.What we offerWe offer a doctoralscholarship for a period of two years.
Following a positive evaluation, the scholarship can be renewed for another two years. The planned start date is July 1st .Your monthly scholarship amount is calculated according to the for doctoralscholarshipholders on the pay scales for Contract Research Staff (Dutch:
