Responsibilities As Research and DevelopmentDirector (R&D Director), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Kemin by overseeing the research and development of new products within our Animal Health & Nutrition business in the EMENA Region.
This critical role will lead the Product Innovation Process (PIP) with a primary focus on product development and application aligned with our Business Unit strategy.

As R&D Director you will be in at the helm of the EMENA R&D department with the following key responsibilities:
Strategy:
Develop and implement the company's R&D strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.Ensure all research and product development activities uphold Kemin's Vision and MissionProduct Development:
Act as the liaison between customers and the company to develop sustainable products in line with the ESG concept.Lead product development with a customer-centric approachDrive innovation in cost reduction and product efficacy, particularly within core platforms.Foster a culture of innovation within the R&D team, encouraging creative thinking and collaboration.Resources, Management, and Connections:
Allocate all resources effectively to support R&D initiatives.Manage research projects from conception to completionCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with market needs and production capabilities.Build a robust scientific network with external institutions to continually acquire new expertise and stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive products, opening doors to fresh opportunities for innovation.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and intellectual property laws in all R&D activities.
Qualifications Experienced R&D manager with a PhD in (bio)chemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry or comparable discipline, who is passionate about innovation, product development and understands business needs and is able to meet the needs.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following:
Extensive experience in managing a research lab in an international environment.Strong people management skills to lead and motivate the research team.A deep sense of curiosity and a passion for innovation.High-level experience in multifunctional project management and experimental design.A strong customer focus and the ability to support business needs.Proficiency in budgeting and cost calculations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills for diverse stakeholders.The ability to persuade and make decisions based on facts and technical arguments.Experience with production scale-up.Fluent in English and another European languageA strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize effectively.What’s in it for you:
