Establish policies, standards, and procedures to govern the collection, storage, usage, and sharing of data.Provide guidance in the design of these policies, standards and procedures and quantifying them by defining KPIs to measure the success of datagovernance initiatives, identify areas of improvement and ensuring accountability.Data Quality ManagementDesign and implement data quality standards and processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of organizational data.Collaborate with data stewards and business units to define and enforce data quality metrics.Deepen the existing framework on the process of moving from a data quality need to a data quality metric.Metadata ManagementOversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories to facilitate understanding and lineage of data across the organization.Define and implement metadata standards to improve data discoverability and transparency.Data Classification and SecurityDevelop and implement data classification schemes to identify and protect sensitive information.Develop goals on data categorisation and integrity & availability.Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure the enforcement of data security measures and compliance with regulatory requirements.Data StewardshipWork closely with data stewards to assign ownership and accountability for data assets.Provide guidance and support to data stewards in their role of maintaining data quality and integrity.Compliance and Regulatory OversightStay current with data protection laws and regulations and ensure the organization's datagovernance practices comply with these standards.Establish and maintain processes for auditing and reporting on datagovernance compliance.Data Lifecycle ManagementDefine and implement policies for the lifecycle management of data, including data retention, archiving, and disposal.Collaborate with business units to understand data usage patterns and optimize data storage and access.
