Job Summary
The Staff/ChiefScientistAmmoniaTechnologist is expected to initiate, propose, and execute research and development, debottlenecking/revamp, energy-saving, and sustainability improvement programs directed towards the improvement of processes and commercial technologies.
They will lead in-house new process technology development, scale up, and implementations in commercial plants.
Additionally, they will provide technology support to commercial plants for shutdown, turnover, and re-commissioning as needed.
The ammoniatechnologist will also provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis support and drive problem resolution for commercial plants.
Initially, they will support growth projects and be aware of the differences in available licensing technology from main licensors, allowing for the selection of the best technology based on these differences.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide directions and lead Green, Blue Ammonia development, technology, and project selection
Be aware of Decarbonization solutions in the industry and link them to the technology selection exercise
Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis support and drive problem resolution for commercial plants
Develop Plant-wide Models in Aspen Plus or similar software and guide plant improvements/performance
Carry out energy and mass balance calculations, energy optimization/pinch studies, pump hydraulics calculations, heat exchanger design and calculations, various catalyst performance evaluations, feasibility studies, and revamp studies
Independently review engineering documents and steer technology selection and improvements
Provide technology support to commercial plants for shutdown, turnover, and re-commissioning as needed
Collaborate with external companies, startups, and universities and lead projects toward implementation in the plant
Provide insights, directions, and support to product development within the group
Actively contribute to the safety culture, coach young employees, and initiate new programs.
Requirements:
This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Masters or PhD is preferred.
Experience of 15 years directly working, supporting, and implementing various process improvement and energy improvement solutions in Ammonia assets built with various technology providers.
Strategic thinking and planning.
Leadership skills to work and influence highly talented people with diversified disciplines and cultures.
Ability to create, foster, and drive a culture of innovation.
