Job descriptionBuyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing Plastics, Metals, Electronic components (Transformers, Inductors, Crystals and Connectors etc.), subassemblies and finished goods vendors, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and ensuring that all purchases meet our quality and safety standards.
You will work closely with our Engineering and Production teams to ensure that all purchased items are delivered on time, in the right quantity and within budget.This buyer will also have a procurement activity and will attend to daily meetings with plant manager to address promptly shortage issues.The Buyer reports to the Purchasing Director.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement purchasing strategies for mechanical and electronic componentsIdentify and source new vendors for defined categoriesNegotiate pricing, payment terms and Incoterms with vendorsWork closely with our R&D, Indus and Production teams for new products development, ensure that all purchased items are delivered on time, appropriate quantity and within budgetEnsure supply continuity for production plants (Ekinops Belgium and EMS)Place and monitor purchasing orders for defined categories according to monthly forecast to ensure that suppliers respect delivery times, the quality of products and services, and the negotiated termsMaintain continuously data accuracy in the company ERPEnsure that all purchased items meet our quality and safety standards.Manage inventory levels and value to ensure that we have adequate stock of componentsReview and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflictsSupport Quality department to fix vendor’s product non-conformance or quality issuesNegotiate contracts with vendor (logistic agreement, …)Analyze market trends and pricing to identify opportunities to reduce costs.Develop and maintain purchasing reports and other documentationProfile and skillsEngineer, master’s degree in mechanical or equivalent in Supply ChainMini 3 years of experience in purchasing across a broad range of categories – Metals, Plastics or ElectronicsExperience in international sourcing and purchasing in AsiaExperience in industrial sectorBasic knowledge of Plastic, Metal and/or electronic components, including their applications and technical specificationsAbility to read and interpret Engineering drawings and schematics.Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written in EnglishStrength of proposal on new technologiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent negotiating skillsOffice Pack (strong knowledge of Excel)ERP system (ideally SAP4 HANA)PackagePossibility to work remotely 3 days per weekBonus + fixCarMeal voucherRecruitment process3 interviews:
